Within the Golden Hour and Romantique

Wheeldon | Bossi | Vivaldi | Horiuchi

The incomparable sounds of a live chamber orchestra create magic when paired with the imagery of a rarely performed ballet by renowned choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.  Inspired by the gold and shimmering hues of Gustav Klimt’s paintings, the associate artistic director of London’s Royal Ballet created Within the Golden Hour for 14 dancers, and set it to a score by Bossi, with music by Vivaldi.  Chamber Music Society of Saint Louis continues its collaboration, offering up a jazz trio and classical cellist to complement the energy and style of Horiuchi’s dazzling Romantique.
