The devastating loss of the April, 2020 production of Swan Lake coupled with the unexpected cancellation of the annual spring gala has created a major challenge to our bottom line. As we look ahead to next season, the safety of our audiences, performers, staff, volunteers and supporters is of utmost importance to us. For some time to come, the necessity of continued social distancing practices will impact our ability to generate the levels of earned revenue required to maintain our operations and programs.
Our dancers are the heart and soul of our organization. They are also a valued asset for the St. Louis region – teaching, performing and mentoring young people. Retention, training, artistic growth and safety are our paramount concerns. Our artists contribute to the creative economy and the vibrancy of our city! It is our priority to continue to employ all of them as well as essential staff and continue to provide them with a home here in St. Louis.
Help Saint Louis Ballet reach its goal of $150,000 to sustain its most important asset.
That includes salaries, health insurance, and the umbrella of services dancers need to thrive here in St. Louis. Your support will allow us to provide our dancers and essential staff with the support they need through the next year regardless of the roadblocks placed in our way by Covid-19 crisis.
When the pandemic is behind us, Saint Louis Ballet will be raring to go. With a company of dedicated and supported dancers, Saint Louis Ballet will return to its work in this community – on the stage, in the schools and beyond. And we will all be the beneficiaries of this campaign.
