GO! Series: GOOD AS GOLD
Choreography by Tom Gold, Balanchine and Amy Seiwert
Saint Louis Ballet, known for its grand, classical productions on the massive Touhill stage, adds more intimate venues this season. The first production in the new “GO Series” takes place November 19 in the small Lee Theatre at the Touhill Performing Arts Center, and features work by George Balanchine, Tom Gold, among others.
This new series allows for close-to-the-stage seating, scaled down lighting and minimal sets/effects, and the opportunity to present contemporary work created for fewer dancers in a more casual setting. “GO Series” productions will feature question and answer periods and receptions with the dancers.
“The quality of the dancing and choreography will remain the same,” said Executive and Artistic Director Gen Horiuchi. “Just a smaller setting.”
On the bill: "Oasis" by Tom Gold plus a new piece by Tom Gold, "Other View" by Amy Seiwert and selections of "Who Cares?" by George Balanchine.
