Saint Louis’ favorite holiday production is back! Grand and traditional, Gen Horiuchi’s "The Nutcracker" is a large-scale production with glorious sets and lighting, hundreds of colorful costumes, rousing music and the talents of Saint Louis Ballet’s professional dancers alongside students of the Saint Louis Ballet School.
A tradition for families throughout Saint Louis and beyond, Gen Horiuchi’s Nutcracker captures the spirit of the holidays with the two-act spectacle originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Op. 71). The libretto is adapted from E. T. A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King".
Saint Louis Ballet presents Thanksgiving weekend previews as well as matinee and evening productions in December.
