Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce that Saint Louis Ballet dancers will return to the studio in September in preparation for a wonderful fall and holiday season.  After months of separation, our dancers – including three talented new ones – will reunite and begin training, creating and preparing to perform for you.

We are one of the very few organizations in the region that has retained all administrative and artistic personnel.  We are fueled by your interest and generosity to keep Saint Louis Ballet moving forward  despite financial and logistical hardships that challenge us in many ways.

I am delighted to announce that in October we will present an intimate, studio-based performance that is created for the world in which we now live. With safety measures paramount, I have created solo and small ensemble works set to the music of J.S. Bach. This Is Who We Are provides a rare look “behind the scenes” – that is intimate, heartfelt, and beautiful.   This fully-produced program will be streamed over a four-day period, with links available on this site.

In December, Nutcracker Extravaganza will incorporate our favorite Nutcracker scenes from years past, interspersed with new Nutcracker performances by our 2020-2021 Saint Louis Ballet dancers on the Touhill stage. Go “behind the scenes” and discover the magic of this special Nutcracker, produced by Saint Louis Ballet for our audience members who treasure this holiday tradition.  Links to Nutcracker Extravaganza will be available on this site in November.

On the horizon in 2021 are ballets by renowned choreographers such as George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Peter Martins, and Justin Peck—the Tony Award-winning dancer and choreographer who is choreographing the new West Side Story film alongside Steven Spielberg.

Due to the uncertainties of COVID-19 and the challenges the pandemic imposes, we will wait to announce formats and details of the 2021 ballets. Saint Louis Ballet continues to put the health and safety of our audience members, dancers and staff as our priority.  Once theatres are re-opened in  2021, we will follow all the protocols to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.

Thank you for your continued interest and support. Stay safe and continue to check this site for updates on the 2020-2021 season.
