So you've "purchased" or registered for a virtual ticket. Now what?
Please note: If you haven't yet registered to receive your complimentary Nutcracker performance link, click here to register.
1. Why does my order status show "Awaiting Payment" when the ticket is free?
Your status when checking your order may show "Awaiting Payment." Don't worry, no payment is needed. We have not clicked the "processing your order" button since the link is not ready to deliver as we are still in production.
2. Do I need to pay anything to watch the performance or receive the link?
The performance is complimentary. However, Saint Louis Ballet does welcome your support in the form of tax-deductible contributions. Since there will be no ticket sales in the foreseeable future, your contributions will allow us to continue to stream performances during the pandemic. Donations can be made by clicking here.
3. When will I receive my link?
You will receive your link the morning of the performance date you requested.
4. What if I don't receive the email with the link?
We will make sure the link for each performance is available on our website (under the drop down "Nutcracker" just in case any of our patrons have not received the email or are having trouble receiving it. It will also be available by launching your YouTube App and searching for "Saint Louis Ballet" at the appointed time. Please note, each scheduled performance will appear on Youtube at the scheduled time and only for that evening or matinee.
5. How can I watch the Streaming?
The streaming will be available through our Youtube Channel located at youtube.com/stlouisballet at the scheduled times. Below are some tips and ways to watch:
The best and easiest way to watch is by launching the Youtube app on a Smart TV and search for the "Saint Louis Ballet' channel to see the video (no need to type in the link).
Another simple way but may not provide the largest viewing window is to open the provided link on your phone, computer, or tablet.
If launching the link on your computer, you may hook up your computer to your TV using an HDMI connector cable (an adapter for your computer may be needed).
If your Smart TV has Google Cast, your phone can stream it directly to your TV this way as well.
6. What can I expect during the performance and how long will it be?
SLB's Nutcracker includes Act 1 footage from last year's performance of The Nutcracker as well as newly-filmed footage of Act 2 (The Land of the Sweets). The performance will be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with an intermission between Act 1 and Act 2. During intermission you will see fun footage of students getting in the spirit of The Nutcracker, along with a message from SLB.
7. I'm a teacher and I'd like to provide The Nutcracker for my school students as a Virtual Field Trip.
We are providing a special link for schools and teachers for this purpose. Click here to register separately for this link.
