A message from Gen Horiuchi
To Saint Louis Ballet Fans and Supporters:
When we think of Saint Louis Ballet and our metro region, we think of a legacy of resilience. For over two decades, we have survived national emergencies, natural disasters, and financial crises. We remain dedicated to our foundational principles as an arts organization built to find joy and beauty in life, art, and our community's many gifts.
We are living through an unprecedented moment in time as the world unifies to respond to COVID-19. As the crisis unfolds, the safety and well-being of our community is our priority. With the mandated restrictions placed on events in our region, we find ourselves with no choice but to cancel The Spring Gala, scheduled for April 18, 2020.
This, along with the cancellation of Swan Lake, deal a heavy blow to Saint Louis Ballet's financial resources and budget, with significant planning and capital already expended. Any help or support at this time is much appreciated. Information about ways to support Saint Louis Ballet can be found here. (If you purchased tickets for the Gala and have questions, please contact Valerie Miller at or 818-517-9050. Val is working from home and will be happy to assist you.)
Please know how much your safety means to us. We cannot express how saddened we are to lose the opportunity to present Swan Lake and our Spring Gala. You are a dear part of our extended family, and we cannot wait to welcome you once again for a new season next October.
Until then, we at Saint Louis Ballet wish you and all those close to you good health, strength and resilience as our community pulls together to weather this storm.
With immense gratitude,
Gen Horiuchi,
Executive and Artistic Director

The Spring Gala provides essential support for Saint Louis Ballet’s performance season which offers four major productions annually at the beautiful Touhill Performing Arts Center. Proceeds also fund outreach
programs, which include Tickets for Teachers and Kids, Pirouettes with a Purpose and Pointe to Succeed, our
in-school program that brings the joy of ballet to underserved children in our community.
