ABOUT THE SLB SUMMER INTENSIVE
Saint Louis Ballet’s summer intensive program for ages 7-21 offers the most complete program in the metro area with a variety of dance genres while standing on the principle that ballet is the foundation for success in all areas of dance. Expanding the program last year and offering 4 levels, you are guaranteed to have a class to fit you! Daily ballet technique, pre-pointe or pointe classes and another genre class will make up the students daily schedule of 3 classes per day for the intermediate and advanced students.
Our youngest level of the program, Ballet 1/2, offers a daily ballet technique class to teach and anchor students' skills in ballet. The ballet class is followed by a second class of another genre to enhance their dance experience and broaden their education.
LEVELS EXPLAINED
BEGINNIG
2 Classes per day
(3 weeks to choose)
This summer class level is for students aged 7-9 with a preferred year of dance experience.
Students of SLBS register into this level if you were levels 1-2 in term 2025-2026
INTERMEDIATE
3 Classes per day
(5 weeks to choose)
This is for Beginning Intermediate level dancers aged 9-12 with at least 3 years of ballet and not yet on pointe.
Students of SLBS register into this level if you were levels 3-4 in term 2025-2026
ADVANCED
3 Classes per day
(5 weeks to choose)
This is for Intermediate-Advanced level dancers aged 12-18 with at least 5 years of ballet and at least 1 year of pointe.
Students of SLBS register into this level if you were levels 5-8 in term 2025-2026

FOR THE ADVANCED LEVEL DANCERS:
Saint Louis Ballet presents a premier three-week summer intensive designed for advanced-level dancers. Rooted in ballet and pointe, the program also offers a diverse range of essential genres, including contemporary, jazz, musical theater, and ballroom. Dancers train in a supportive, home-like atmosphere with accomplished faculty dedicated to their growth. Combining exceptional instruction with affordability, this program is the ideal choice for those seeking top-tier summer training.
