“The St Louis Ballet School is a leader in dance education and a model organization. We have been consistently impressed by their professionalism in the classroom, on stage, and in management. The school showed exemplary commitment in protecting its students during COVID-19. The office staff and teachers worked tirelessly to move classes online and to accommodate schedule changes and IT issues. They made it easy for our kids to keep dancing and to stay connected with their class. Now with newly implemented changes this fall, we are grateful to return to the studio and are confident that the school will continue to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing learning environment.”
Jinn Hughes, SLBS Parent
As we work through the challenges the pandemic has placed on our school, our priority is two-fold:
1. To keep our students engaged and dancing
2. To our students, families, staff and faculty safe.
We will continue to monitor and make contingency plans based on the current Covid situation.
We thank you all for supporting your dancers and children throughout this time and thank you for putting your trust in us.

About Saint Louis Ballet School
Directed by former principal of New York City Ballet and former lead in the Broadway Show CATS in London and New York,Gen Horiuchi opened the doors of SLBS in the year 2000. The school is built on his belief that ballet serves as a foundation in life. By studying ballet, regardless if a student has a goal of becoming a professional performing artist or not, the student is building a strong discipline and work ethic that will serve them well in all areas of life and study. In addition, studying not only ballet, but all forms of dance as well as music makes a dancer well rounded. Bringing a student’s work to the stage is also an important factor in dance and music education. SLBS offers yearly performance opportunities through it’s annual end of year performance as well as the opportunity to perform in Saint Louis Ballet’s professional productions such as St. Louis’ holiday favorite The Nutcracker at the Touhill.
